It tells a much more accurate story. the 1ms you're referring to measures the point where a standard frame they select in a measurement ends and the next one starts... this tells you nothing about how the monitor will perform in a gaming environment. check the reviews on YouTube and see what the g to g or Gray to Gray measurement is. that measures 1 whole frame under load to the next whole frame. 3.8 ms is good 4 to 5 is ok anything higher is Oh well... But keep in mind most people are never going to notice the difference or be able to react to this even at 8 ms..
