Same here - I have been trying to log into my account since around Feb 2024. They say they are sending a verification code to my email, I NEVER receive it, and I have obviously checked my spam folder. Have to buy from somewhere else. They may be going out of business and do not want any more purchases or something. Ridiculous.

Never received the code. I called Best Buy tech support and they promised to fix it in 24-28 hrs. Its been 2 months now

WHY, Best Buy....WHY?   You ask for a phone number to send a verification code, but don't.   You ask for an email address instead to email it, but don't.

You guys aren't serious, so I'll be driving down and have a few words with whomever is going to be unfortunate enough to deal with me.

I'm having same issue - not receiving the verification code after being told by customer service it'd be sent.  I had already tried several times online with the same failure to get the emailed verification code.

I wonder where these emails sent from Best Buy are ending up,...

If I cannot change the password when I wish, I think the account is  a:  useless  and b:  a security threat.

great news! this BS is still going strong in 2024 they never send you the code and if you try and call the make you jump through hoops till you give up just to not pay out $100 I personally only made it through 5 rounds "hold on let me transfer you to " before I gave up. maybe if you are more determined you can get you $100 but they make you work for it

I have been trying to receive a verification code on my BB app to no avail. I had to go to the store in person to get a copy of my WebRoot renewal receipt which is not disclosed online via my account. Shame!

Same issue here. They never called back though my phone number and email were verified as correct with them. Also...my family email does work when I ask for the password when I need to change the address, just the business one, the account I need for a company purchase (with the TOTAL account) isnt working. So its not an issue of whatever internet something they are using to send the verifications, at least not for me. Infuriating.

Hey there!

I actually figured it out. After searching for a bit I was amazed that Best Buy hadn't resolved this issue for literally years.. It's actually a simple fix that they should have a support article about to help resolve this.

So basically I have a hotmail account which is now Outlook. I was receiving promotional emails from Best Buy but for some reason wasn't receiving the verification email. This never was really an issue for me as I could just bypass it when signing in.

I recently purchased a game that had a $10 promo e-gift card along with it. That was the only reason I purchased it through best buy and not through Playstation directly.

When I received my game I thought it was odd that I still hadn't received an email with the e-gift card. I saw that I had to "Verify my email address." I clicked the button a dozen times and never received an email in my inbox or spam folder.

My hunch was that this email was getting blocked somehow in Outlook. I created a BestBuy account with a Google account and tried the email verification with it. To my surprise, I did receive a verification email.

I then copied the sender email (BestBuyInfo@emailinfo.bestbuy.com) and went into my Outlook account and explicitly added it to my "Safe senders and domains" list.

In Outlook you can find this by going to Settings -> Mail -> Junk email.

After I did that, I retried the verification for my hotmail email and I immediately started receiving emails.

I was able to verify my email and get my e-gift card

Sadly for some of y'all, there is a time limit (4 months?) you have until you can verify your email to receive the e-gift card.

Anyways, hopefully this will save future BestBuy shoppers the headache I dealt with!

October 2025 and this issue is still not fixed. Can't receive my verification email even though Ive verified my account. Tried adding every Best Buy email I could find online to my approved sender list, still no dice. Tried calling Best Buy and each department is just playing hot potato with me. I'm coming to the conclusion that this is just a bait and switch tactic on Best Buy's part. Whoever's job it is to fix oversights like this knows about it and is choosing to leave it unresolved at this point becuase it's either too hard to fix, or it benefits them financially, I suspect the latter.

I have been on the phone  today with them and they say I should be receiving emails. I have tried to verify for 4 days so when logging on I just skip that part. Seems in over a year they should have fixed this. Also my purchases from last year are showing but not this year. So I really have no receipt for orders picked up.

Yup, same here. They were writing down my email and trying to sell me on a different promotion I didn't want. Called the next day stating I never received a code and they told me it would get escalated. Have yet to hear anything a week later. Very disappointed in the service.

I am done with Best Buy, I recently could not log into my account either, when it says to enter the last 4 numbers of your cell annd last name and they will send a code to your phone to verify your account, I also never get the code, same as email, no code sent. I called tech support which is a huge joke, get connected to a foreigner that dont speak english much, they hang up on me, I called back again to have another woman from Phillipines just tell me to make a new email address ( screw that) and then call back to have account merged, they did this a few months ago also, so can't log in now, just going to order from Amazon from now on. Its stupid customer service. And you can't even call local store to complain since calls are routed across seas to yet another foreigner.

Can get in to my account, check out but it won't accept payment without a code. Zero fix from customer service including not letting me order on line. Gave up and called Bose who was glad to help and took order

I was not getting the email in spam or junk, but the minute I added them to my safe sender list I got the verification email finally.

Check your email inbox/spam to see if you receive an email from Best Buy saying “Your e-gift card is ready.” If so, just open it to claim your e-gift card. I didn’t receive an email to ask for email address verification also, just received a direct email to get the e-gift card. Hope this helps.
