  • QuestionWhich of the 5red, green and blue colors refer to video and audio in a component cable?

    Asked by Virginia.

    • Answer None. These are for video only, although any RCA cable will carry any signal. In the case of component video, the green cable carry’s the luma (brightness) and sync signals (Y), blue carry’s the colorspace difference between blue and luma (Pb) red carry’s the colorspace difference between red and luma (Pr). However if you’re looking to hook up component video AND audio, just buy an additional set of audio cables.

  • QuestionWhich component cables work with recent DIRECTV upgrade?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Your question is actually vague. RGB Cables and RGB connectors are not hardware specific. Meaning if you have RGB connectors on your hardware then any RGB cable will work. The RGB cable will only do video you will need a Red/White cable for audio, sometimes there is a yellow cable too. You don't need to worry about it as it is for SD video and RGB is HD video.
