The cords stay. They allow you to remove the TV from the wall mount. If you pull down on the cords, the TV attached brackets (2) will release from the wall mount. The strings are long and if you have a smaller TV just tuck them behind it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.the two cords allow you to take it off the mount. Each one has a small magnet at the end so you can stor it behind the tv. But make sure they are hanging down when you install.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The cords when pulled down detach the TV from the Mount bracket. You can always tape them up to hide them. Need though to remove the TV.
