Depending on the tv weight and size. You can actually use just one stud. And toggle bolts on the side. Hit the stud as close to the middle as possible to top and bottom of the bracket. Then use toggle bolts on each of the 4 corner holes. You could also add extensions to the end.

Please try again later.If you don’t want to or can’t open up the wall to build up some support for it inside you could mount a solid piece of 3/4” plywood across the two studs on the drywall then mount it to that. But be sure you get lag screws long enough to go through the plywood, drywall, and then well into the studs. Pre drill into the studs with slightly undersized drill bit compared to the lag bolts. In both the studs in the wall and the plywood for the tv mount.
