Thank you for your question! When mounting your TV, you'll want to position the brackets on the back of the TV so that they are level with each other. The distance of the screw holes from the bottom of the TV doesn't dictate where the brackets should be placed vertically on the TV itself. Instead, focus on attaching the brackets using the holes on the back of your TV that match the VESA pattern and allow the brackets to be horizontally level. Once the brackets are securely attached and level on the TV, the mount on the wall will ensure the entire TV is level. You don't need the bottom of the brackets to be exactly at the 2-1/2" mark from the bottom of the TV. The key is that the brackets are level relative to each other on the TV's back.
