NO! My big problem with this mount is that it must be centered on 16" studs. I have a stud on the center of the room, so the mount is 7"-8" off center. The mount will not let me center a 77" TV, it tilts too much. Only buy if you have 16" studs that are near center of the location where you want the TV.

Please try again later.If your stud spacing isn’t conventional, such as the 18” studs in older homes built before WW2, you can simply install a 3/4” plywood board behind the TV, attach that to the studs, paint it to match the wall and then lag screw the TV mount to that. 3/4” plywood is very durable and will have no problem supporting the weight.
