To help answer your question, my wife uses her 2017 MacBook air on her 34in Alienware OLED monitor and works just fine. She has a older monitor that was dated back from 2012 or something. But anyways, she's had no issues with the new monitor and old MacBook air so far and has had it for a few months.

While our Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter supports resolutions up to 1080p, it's important to note that it may not support a 75Hz refresh rate. The specific capabilities can vary depending on the exact model of your MacBook Air and monitor. To ensure optimal performance and achieve a 75Hz refresh rate, we recommend checking the specifications of your MacBook Air and monitor, or consulting with an Apple support specialist or a qualified technician. They can provide specific guidance on compatibility and potential limitations. Additionally, you may want to consider exploring other adapter options that are specifically designed to support higher refresh rates. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out. - Mae | BestBuy Essential Support | https://www.bestbuy.com/site/brands/best-buy-brands/pcmcat1596746025285.c?id=pcmcat1596746025285
