There are two little set-screws that keep the TV plate secured to the wall plate. You might need a long phillips head screw driver to get at them. The TV stands away from the wall just far enough for your hand to operate the screw driver. Also you can tilt the TV away while you work on the nearer screw. The screws only keep the plates from coming apart, they don't bear any weight and the TV won't fall off the wall when they are removed.
