Yes, if mounted on a tree, Squirrels can pull the feeder towards them and climb on.

Bird food is available that uses chili pepper, birds love it, and squirrels will not eat it.

Alternately, the feeder can be mounted on a stand or wall that squirrels cannot climb.

Yes. Mine is attached to the deck so they climb the screen. The baffle that comes with it might help if its attached to a pole. I switched to safflower seed to keep them out. They also offer a cage seed guard but it has mixed reviews with squirrels.

Depending on where and how the feeder is mounted, yes, squirrels can access it. We mounted ours on a poll and the squirrels immediately climbed it. We did buy a cone attachment that stopped that. The squirrels now stand underneath and forage what falls to the ground.
