My dog runs when he sees me take my Bissel Powerlifter out to use on the floors and 3 small area rugs let alone the regular vacuum.. He was abused before I got him and He runs from the broom as well and if it is leaning up against the fridge or in the corner he won't go past it and will walk around. So I thought there is no way he would stand for this but I thought of a solution . I usually give him bath outside living in Florida usually not a problem but when it's too cold for a while I give him vacuum bath in the bathroom. I set the vacuum in the hallway and shut the door as much as I can I stretch the hose as far as I can and the noise doesn't bother him. He really likes the attachment being rubbed against his body and he doesn't shake the water everywhere. When he is put in the tub I have to use a screen to catch his hair he is a Golden Retriever and the hair goes everywhere. I put a mat down so he doesn't slip and slide but he shakes so much the whole bathroom has to be cleaned from the ceiling to the baseboard. He doesn't try to jump out but he doesn't want to turn around so he gets washed on both sides and he stands in the back with his face staring at the corner He thinks he won't get as wet that way. LOL Using the vacuum he stands on the outside of the tub and can get his whole body no problem.

Not too loud. It's about the same volume as a vacuum.

The sound is exactly like a vacuum cleaner. So, if your dog jumps at vacuum noise, they would have to be eased into it gradually.

About as loud as a typical vacuum

It may be a little uncomfortable it you have really bad nerves like I do but it is fine with me and my 65 year old nerve condition.
