• No, it does not. The directions say to use hot tap water, do not boil or microwave. I let it run as hot as it will get and it works very well. I use it most of the time without the cleaning agent included with the machine. Even with plain hot water it does a very good job for me.

• No. But when you fill up the tank you use the hot water anyways and it stays hot! Well it did for me and it was a great machine!!
