Yes there is like 6 or so settings (1 being ground 6 being a higher carpet or whatever) hope this helps

Yes you can adjust the bottom of the vacuum to the right size of flooring you have. There are 3 settings on the vacuum. You can even use it on hardwood floors.

You can definitely adjust the vacuum to pickup on bare floors or different carpet piles.
