“when using to shampoo a rug, water does not collect in the resivor. How do you work the device”

• This device is not a rug/carpet shampooer, it's a light vacuum that mops. It's really designed for hard surfaces but can vacuum area rugs ok. The cleaner just wets the brush, it doesn't spray directly on the surface to be cleaned. Use it in that context and it works great!
