Drying time really depends on a couple of factors: first how heavily you saturate the upholstery, and second how much time you spend extracting the moisture. This machine has decent suction and does a good job of extraction. After using it on my carpet, the areas where I spent extra elbow grease drawing out the water were pretty much dry in under 20 minutes. Hope this helps!
