• Great question but no the battery for this unit is not designed to be replaced.

• Theoretically the NM battery can be replaced. But you need to be good at reassembling the motor, belt, wheels when swapping out an exhausted battery. Entails 10 screws to be removed on underside to gain access to battery pack. Pack unclips and replacement—if available from Bissell—goes in. Likely cheaper to purchase new unit after 2-3 years...but for handy person, replacing NM battery is doable.
