Mine was charged when I bought it. It has a charging cord that plugs in to a regular outlet like your cell phone. A small red light indicates it is charging. When the light goes off you're set. Charge seems like it lasts forever.

My problem is that after using it for one week when I went to use it it wouldn't work for longer than 5 seconds. I thought perhaps it hadn't been plugged in correctly so I checked the cords and left it for the day. However several hours later it still wouldn't work. Battery is awful.
