It pretty well eliminated the pet odor.

It could also depend on how much formula you add with water into the machine, and how deep of a cleaning you end up doing. With the deep clean setting on my machine, and doing a 2-3 dry passes, the reduced moisture left behind in the carpet makes a huge difference. The drier your carpet is after cleaning, the less powerful the scent of the formula.
