I would not use this on Persian carpets because they are way too delicate. The colors might fade using any carpet cleaner on any carpet. Some Persian style carpets are made with modern fibers and can withstand this type of cleaning, but any area rug might be too delicate for this powerful cleaner. You should test the cleaning solution on a small, inconspicuous place first. That said, I did clean 3 Persian style large area rugs that I inherited and they came out beautiful. Since I had no idea how old these rugs were or where they came from, I blindly took a chance and they all survived. Even the color was brighter. I did not use Oxy Clean as I usually do on the wall to wall carpets and I slightly diluted the cleaning solution.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It depends on your definition of “Persian carpet”. If you mean, hand knotted silk, then not sure. I have a large area rug made of synthetic yarn. It was extremely expensive and very high quality. I tested a small area and then proceeded to clean the entire rug. The machine did a fantastic job.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The dual brush system is pretty aggressive on my standard nap carpet. There is only one speed for the brushes. If the carpet you are going to clean is delicate in any way, I would suggest hand cleaning before letting a machine possibly damage it. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, this can be used on persian carpets.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If it is valuable I would not recommend using this machine, it is powerful enough that a snagged string can be sucked in and unravel the weave, it did that to my berber carpet.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Persian Carpets that are more valuable are hand knotted, not machine made. They are extremely durable! You should check if your carpets are made of wool or silk, or another fiber. I have a large wool rug that didn’t LOOK dirty, but hadn’t been cleaned in several years. I decided to use the Bissell, and the carpet came out looking like I had just bought it. I will say, however, it did lose some of the fibers, but it wasn’t enough to make a difference. I’m just happy to have clean carpet!
