• I did not clean a rug but when I was researching cleaners I read that others had cleaned rugs with this cleaner.

• John, It's capable of cleaning a rug with tight weave. Depending on the importance/cost of your rug, you might consider having it professionally cleaned because this cleaner will likely leave more moisture in your rug than may be acceptable. TribladeTruth
