“The instructions read this has to be setup on hard surface with 40" clear on front and sides. Does anyone know if this is an absolute must? I would prefer to setup on carpet to be closer to wifi router and my space is less than the 40" to each side.”

Is not necessary 40 but needs space to come out the doc station hope this helps
