• No, the carafe is not the same size or shape as prior models, nor are they interchangeable. It is definitely wider, and in my case.. taller. My prior model used cone filters - this model uses basket filters.

• Thanks for your question. While a carafe from the same model CM4000S would work, you could not use a carafe from a different Black + Decker model.
