• A red blinking light means that it is recharging. I have not paid a lot of attention to how long it blinks. I leave mine plugged in all the time, except when I am using it. I would refer to the direction book that came with it or look it up on the Black and Decker web site. Know your model name and number.

• Yes mine does the fast blinking also, this means it is charging, the light will go off after it is fully charged!
