Not really. This is a great vacuum for picking up dirt and other small debris in your kitchen or other areas with hard floors. It has a low setting that will work ok on shag carpets, but in my experience, the vacuum is better suited for hard surfaces.

No, it doesn't. May be if you use the brush, it might pull little bit but not much.
