I recently set up the Blink Video Doorbell and, yes, this new model requires a Sync Module to work properly. I already had one from my other Blink devices, and it connected easily. Without a Sync Module, you can still get motion alerts, but live view and full functionality won’t work. So make sure you have a module or get one separately.

Hi Oscar,
With the newer Blink Video Doorbell (with “Required Sync Module”), it cannot operate fully standalone — it does need a Sync Module to connect and record to your Blink system. Older Blink doorbells could work without one, but this updated version requires the module for proper setup and cloud clips.
