I recently set up the Blink Video Doorbell and, yes, this new model requires a Sync Module to work properly. I already had one from my other Blink devices, and it connected easily. Without a Sync Module, you can still get motion alerts, but live view and full functionality won’t work. So make sure you have a module or get one separately.

Please try again later.Hi Oscar, With the newer Blink Video Doorbell (with “Required Sync Module”), it cannot operate fully standalone — it does need a Sync Module to connect and record to your Blink system. Older Blink doorbells could work without one, but this updated version requires the module for proper setup and cloud clips. Hope this helps!
