The Blink System does not require a static IP address. We currently only offer our free cloud storage for the basic Blink camera systems accessible via the Blink App. Our free cloud storage for the Basic Blink camera systems can hold up to 1440 5-second clips for as long as you like (no expiration) - when it becomes full, it will automatically delete the oldest clip in order to make room for the next one.

I plugged in the Blink control hub, followed the provided written instructions, and was off in running in about 30-45 minutes (inluding installing the cameras). I have 3 cameras and will most likely purchase more, considering the hub will support up to 10. As for static IP, I didn't assign one nor do I really know if the hub "grabbed" one. I know that I open the Blink app on my phone and I can view live camera (note: it doesn't record while viewing live). The motion detectors are pretty sensitive so I need to play with that some. I'll pick up butterflies and various other flying insects/birds. As for space, I'm not certain you can buy more cloud space but I feel I have plenty. I review the footage daily and delete so I'm never above 10% capacity, even if I wait a several days before deleting.
