Q: QuestionHow far away from the house can the cameras be installed. I want to monitor my parking area approx 60-70 feet from my back door.

• A:Answer 70 feet may be pushing it but to be sure I would check to see if you can can still access your hot spot from the parking area. Go to the location and try to access it. If you can access it you should be fine. I have my cameras installed 3 miles away from my home watching my rental property. The exception is that I have a hot spot there and use the app to monitor.

Q: QuestionI have a PC at home but I do not have an iphone or similar cell phone. Will this system function without the use of a cell phone on my PC, or is one required to access the recorded clips etc? Do I attach the system to my router?

• A:Answer You cannot currently access your Blink system from your computer. The Blink App is currently only compatible with iOS mobile devices running 10.3 or higher, Android mobile devices running version 5.0 (Lollipop) or higher and Fire OS mobile devices, running software version 5.1 or higher You would connect the Blink System to your wireless router via the Blink Sync module set-up within the APP on your compatible mobile device. The Sync Module is the device that issues commands between the Blink app and the cameras. The system cannot function without it!

• A:Answer Assuming a fairly standard home (single building, no unusually dense construction materials), the Sync Module should be able to communicate with Blink camera units up to 100ft away in any direction. As far as how far away the system can be from your wireless router would depend on the strength of your internet/wifi we recommend at least three bars of signal strength for optimal performance.

• A:Answer The Blink cameras have a field of view of 110 degrees - in the daytime, they provide enough visibility to identify an individual’s facial features that is 20ft away, recognize a person that is 32ft away, and beyond that depends on exact lighting conditions. At night, they provide visibility up to 20ft away depending on exact conditions. The range of the motion sensor is up to 15-20ft depending on exact conditions.
