You have to physically purchase the card so that it can activated, if you take the card without paying for it to activate it, it will be useless.

the 60 day cards are a physical item, can only have it shipped to home or drive to a store. Its the tradeoff for not having to sub with a bank/cc account and auto draft.

It just is a plastic card with the code. You need to purchase the card, but you can hand copy the code or type it and throw away the card, but if you copy it wrong or there is a technical support there could be a problem. It's best to keep the physical card until you have used the code online to activate the two months before discarding the card.

You can always purchase 60 days of game time on the Battle Net Shop. If you want it to be a code (rather than applied to your account), you can choose to buy it as a gift and send it to your own email.
