It is very easy. It might not be necessary if you have a SIM which was previously activated. Just place it in the slot. Otherwise is the same as for other phones. If you buy a new SIM and do not want to do it yourself, just go to the T-Mobile store.

Use the pin to put into a small hold on the phone. Press in and the SIM will pop open. Set the SIM in the SIM tray and push in. You can Youtube it, for reference. You can always visit a Best Buy store and they will show you how to do it.
