Simple answer is no. The TiVo bolt OTA is for over the air programming only. You cannot record any cable, satellite or streaming programs with it. TiVo does make different models that work with cable and satellite however, the Bolt OTA will not. Go to the TiVo website and research the different models.

Never used TiVo recording for satellite TV since I already had a DIRECTV recorder/receiver so the answer is I don't know. Not sure you can get satellite TV without it's own recorder/receiver. Gave up satellite TV because of the cost. Though if the cost were similar I prefer satellite for reliability and ease of use.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The TIVO Bolt OTA is designed to work with Over the Air (OTA) TV Digital broadcast signals. It will not work with Cable or Satellite TV signals. My guess is you’ve been using the coax CH3 analog output of your satellite receiver to your VCR. The TIVO Bolt can only tune digital signals.
