What does prepaid mean for this phone? null

I have a monthly, no contract plan with Boost mobile before I purchase this phone. I was able to use the serial number and switch devices, no problem. I know that you can but this device and a prepaid card to begin service. Any beginning fees, I'm not sure about.

Prepaid means that you pay for the service before you use it.
