Boost Mobile is a prepaid company, that's why you have to pay full price for any phone you want to buy. If you decide to use the phone with wifi only you can do it, since is yours the phone is automatically unlocked. If you want to be able to have internet on the go and service to make phone calls then you will need to activate it, but since Boost Mobile is prepaid you pay as you go . If you don't pay one month it's ok, the phone won't lock but you can lose the number that it was designed for you in the beginning. Hope this help you!!!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You don't have to recharge every month. You don't even have to get service at all. Yes you can use wifi only but you will limited to your wifi areas. Boost unlocks phones after a year of first activation.
