If you have a local Boost store, visit them and have your phone checked. You may need to use a different phone or get a different SIM card to activate the plan you want. The store will charge you $25 extra to activate your SIM on a plan but it is probably worth it to avoid the hassle with telephone/chat customer service. Boost has two different websites and they are not labeled so that you know whether you are getting an AT&T or T-Mobile SIM card. And when you buy some plans with SIM online, they do not check your phone IMEI as part of the purchase process. So you may buy a plan and get a SIM that they will not activate for the plan you just bought for use with your phone. The safest way is to visit a store and have them check your phone to see which mobile network and plans will work. Pay the extra $25 for them to activate your phone and make sure everything works, especially mobile data, before you leave the store. But if you don't have a local store, call customer service (or use chat if it is working) and have them check your phone IMEI for eligibility with the plan you want before buying anything. You may need CS help again with setting up mobile data, since their instructions are more complex than normal. Simple, huh?
