I don't see an exposed heating element in mine. I have actually put plastic lids on both, top and bottom racks without any melting or misshapen lids. I hope that helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Sue. Thank you for your question. One of the advantages of our dishwashers is the ability to wash plastics on any level as they will not melt. One trick for helping plastics to dry is alternate plastics with glass and china as they will retain heat better than plastic and will help in the drying process.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We haven't had any issues with plastics melting at all, however the dishwasher doesn't fully dry all of the dishes. It's definitely better than our old dishwasher, but it still ends with slight water pooling on the top of some of the dishes. It's not a huge deal, every dishwasher I've ever had does the same thing, but it's something to note. There is a condensation vent on the left side of the wash basin, if that is covered by something large like a cutting board then it won't dry as effectively. As long as that's clear and the extra-dry option is selected, the dishes are ALMOST completely dry. The top rack is fantastic and helps clear up a ton of space in the racks. Overall, it's a pretty great machine.
