We don't use the delay start function and have only used the automatic wash setting....it shows a cycle time of 1 hr & 59 min at start. I have opened it soon after the cycle is completed....still warm inside....and all are dry including plastic stuff.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My dishes are all dry except for cups that have a grooved bottom and lids that hold water in them. The dishwasher itself is not dry however no matter how long it's been since the last wash.. This is bothersome to me as I'm concerned about mold and smells.

Heat is how it all works and is built-in to the wash/dry processes. Since condensation dry operates using heat (and would not perform without it) all Bosch dishwashers are in essence based on a heated dry system. Cycle completion times include drying time and are available within owner’s manual. Approx 2 hrs with +/- variance shorter/longer depending on cycle/option selections and soil levels.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.According to the owners manual: To enter options mode: 1 Press the On/Off button to turn the unit on. 2 The countdown display and one of the wash cycle LEDs will be flashing. 3 Press and hold down the > button, then simultaneously press and release the Start button. Now release the > button. 4 The “Sanitized” LED will be flashing. You are now in options mode. 5 With the display showing “d:00” or “d:01” press the < button to turn Extra Dry Heat ON or OFF. d:00 = Extra Dry Heat is OFF d:01 = Extra Dry Heat is ON 6 Press Start to save your setting
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Correct, there is no exposed heating element and therefore no drying cycle. Reasonable time is subjective, so that is hard to answer straight up. In your scenario however, yes, the dishes would be dry by 7am. I noticed in the operating manual that using the Sanitized feature/option heats the water up to a higher temp and hence speeds up the drying time - I have found that to be true. Also, when the DW finishes up its cleaning cycle, you can open the door for about 15 min or so and the dishes dry relatively well. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My unit is the Bosch - 100 Series 24" Front Control Tall Tub Built-In Dishwasher with Stainless-Steel Tub - Stainless steel Model:SHE3AR75UC. Like most newer DW's it uses Condensation Drying rather than the conventional heating element method. This saves time and money in energy cost. (I've had the old type with the round toaster element along the bottom. Guess what happens when something plastic touches it, like a serving spoon? Not good. Trust that my dishes are usually dry within an hour after the last cycle is finished. Hope this helped.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This Dish washer sucks as regarding drying your Dishes. My old Westinghouse worked much better than this Bosch machine. Sign of the times I guess. I wouldn't have bought this machine had i known it didn't have a heating element.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I love our Bosh dishwasher with one major exception - you are correct about the drying cycle. It is poor. Virtually 100% of the time the contents are NOT dry at the end of the cycle. Especially/always the plastic items. Water droplets everywhere. Tall glasses also only fit on the bottom basket, too tall for the top basket.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It will not get them as dry as a washer with a heating element. If their are dishes, glasses that are positioned where water can pool, that water will still be there.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. These dish Washers are awful. They will not dry the dishes at all, I hate mine, and can't afford another one now. Take it from one who knows, stay away from a BOLSH Dish Washer!
