Yes, it shines a bright red light on the floor when in cycle. Very, very quiet.

I wish I hadn't bought this one that doesn't tell me (with a light) when it is complete. It does beep, but you must hear it. And, it doesn't keep beeping so often I open it to check and it is not complete. Very irritating! I would NOT buy this model.
