After each cycle, there is a small amount of water left on the bottom part of the seal. I simply wipe it off with a couple of paper towels. Then, I leave the door opened for about 6 to 8 hours. By doing this, I have never had mildew or odors of any kind. It really is an easy and simple solution.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The instructions call for wiping out the rubber gasket before closing washer for a few days. I do laundry just about every day, therefore have not had an issue with smells or mildew. Before vacation I dried out the rubber gasket before shutting for over a week, there was not smell or mildew. This is my second Bosch washing machine, a brand that I will stick with.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I've had a Bosch set for 22 years (finally replacing it with another Bosch set) and I have always left the washer door ajar (mine is in a closet so it doesn't bother me) so it gets lots of air and can dry out. Never had a problem with smell in the washer.
