i had the same problem! I tried the screw driver trick. .It took a couple tries beforeI I could feel the screw driver head going between the metal pieces. it didn't work until i started wiggling the plug as I pushed. Pushing straight in didn't work. Pushing and wiggling side to side eventually worked.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I took a picture of the inside of the plug receptacle and it appeared that the metal receivers were very close together. With dryer unplugged I jammed a small slot screwdriver blade in each side to loosen the receivers and then with a great deal of force was able to inset the washing machine plug. All good!
