These washers have an upper nozzle, and middle and lower paddles arms. Although I am one of those people that essentially cleans my dishes before they go into the dishwasher, I believe that it always works very well on everything I put in, from cutting boards to pots and pans to plates to utensils. I cannot say that I have ever been in a situation where I've tried the baked lasagna test, but I feel confident that it would work as well as any other model or brand.

Have had for a few weeks now and it's been great. House full of teens so yes it does heavy loads. Hope you have as much good fortune as we are enjoying. Best dishwasher we have owned.
