The new 300 has two buttons to start it. When you press the power button it lights up the cycle selection from the last cycle. You can change it if needed. You press the start / pause button to start it (and can pause it when you find that one more fork that should go in).

It has a Start button which must be pushed every time you start a cycle or if you interrupt one, eg open the door to add a plate or something. Different from the 7-year old Bosch it replaced, which would start running if the door was closed with the power on. Like the old model, it has a delay start feature however.
