A heating element uses a lot of electricity. With tightening federal energy standards, most manufacturers have ditched the heating element in favor of a condensation drying system. These systems use a heated rinse at the end of a cycle to coat dishes in hot water. The cool, stainless-steel interior walls of the dishwasher then draw the hot water off of dishes and channel it into the drain. Condensation drying works fine for most glasses and porcelain, but even manufacturers will admit that plastics may not get completely dry. Taken from: http://dishwashers.reviewed.com/features/why-doesnt-my-dishwasher-dry-dishes I have never used the active drying element on my old dishwasher. Never. Certainly the plastics are not quite dry at the end of the cycle; then it's maybe another 10-15 minutes afterwards with the top rack pulled out half way and the door partially open to complete the drying process. No big deal. Better for the environment, better for your wallet.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It isn’t specified in the manual. There is no heating element in the tub, but there is a port on the side that I believe circulated air. Dishes come out very dry.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It dries by condensation. I dont pretend to know what that means but the dishes are dry despite the water on the walls of the tub when the cycle finishes. It does add a good bit of times to the cycle but we are seldom in a big rush to reload and do an immediate send cycle.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is more correctly described as condensation drying.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Don't think so. Dry cycle is a bit lengthy.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think it does as they say it uses no heat other than the heat that comes from the hot water.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It has condensation drying - the final rinse water is super heated and drying occurs by evaporation.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The machine does not dry dishes at all. There's an Extra Dry cycle that does nothing. I'm just sick with disappointment with this new machine.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, this unit does not have convection drying.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
