Hi Rex, thank you for your question and interest in Model:HMV5053U. Here is the link to the Product Datasheet, please see page two: https://files.bbystatic.com/lWCSLNYAr5LhM1Hz6cqWuQ%3D%3D/ccfd96e2-e5fb-47e4-b5f5-5c1510a3b486.pdf The Manufacturer actually recommends 33 to 36 inch clearance. 30 inches is the minimum.
