If you are only doing one load a week, keep the round filter in the bottom middle of the dishwasher clean. Also make sure you have it installed with a loop or something between the dishwasher and your garbage disposal to stop garbage from draining into your dishwasher. The instructions mention both of these. The loop especially is a normal problem with incorrect dishwasher installations.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you mean a chemical smell, I noticed that in my Bosch four years ago when it was new. Mine was not a 500 Series but one of the Ascentas I think. It dissipated after a few weeks of using. Also learned recently from an experienced appliance technician that it is not recommended using the Express cycle all the time like I was doing with only 1 tablespoon of powdered automatic dishwasher soap (as we have a water softener). It creates foaming and eventually draining issues. I learned my model didn’t heat the water to as high a temperature in the shorter 30 minute “Express” cycle. *****I think they need to warn people about doing this, as my dishes were turning out perfectly clean, as we rinsed and wiped food off with a Dobie pad before loading in the dishwasher until we got into several issues.*****
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Definitely not normal. I did have a burning smell the first wash because I left a sticker on in the tub, but I peeled it off and it was fine after that. I would return/exchange your machine right away
