“The space in which this would go is 72 1/8 “ H, 37” W. The Best Buy guide says the 72” x 35 5/8” unit will not fit. Did anyone who bought this have a similar issue, bought it anyway and it fit OK? What is the minimum required opening? Thanks.”

It will fit. The space I have mine in is 74 x 36 and it fits just fine. measuring the height of my fridge it’s 71 3/4 inches x 35 5/8 inches so it should just fit for you
