“How do you know when your load cycle is complete? Light is on during the cycle but then goes off , does that mean it’s complete? Odd! Usually all dishwashers have some indication of being done instead of nothing.”

Hi Done, thanks for your question and interest in model #SHP78CM5N. During a dishwasher cycle, an infoLight® projects a red light onto the floor (or a white light in the pocket handle on select models) to indicate that the machine is in use. Once the cycle ends, the light turns off, and a tone sounds to signal that the cycle is complete.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The only thing that works for me is to open the door and check the dishes. If they are clean: bingo. It's frustrating because light-off either means that kids have loaded up the dishwasher but didn't turn it on, or someone was in the middle of loading and got distracted, or they pressed the start button and didn't notice that the start button doesn't work, or the dishes are done. For the price I was expecting something more attuned to how a family uses a dishwasher.
