A:AnswerMy Bosch dishwasher does not totally dry plastics. From what I'm reading elsewhere plastics are an issue with all makes/models. I just know when I unload that I'll need a dish towel to wipe off some water from the plastics. Everything else comes out dry and clean.

A:AnswerWe had Best Buy install it. There was plenty of room. The adjustment was inches. We were in exactly the same boat as you. The tile floor we installed made the opening really small. This is a great dishwasher.
A:AnswerThey are not adjustable.
The middle rack does move up an down and locks in three positions.
However, if the middle rack is not in the highest position my dinner plates are too tall to fit in the bottom rack.
Additionally, with the middle rack in the highest position there is not room for large glasses without removing the top rack.
I should add that I am happy with this Bosch and recommend it.
A:AnswerHi wesley, thank you for your question and interest in Model:SGE68X55UC. This Dishwasher is 44 dBA and does have a silverware basket as well as a third rack for silverware.
A:AnswerShort answer: I don’t know.
Detailed answer: I don’t know if the racks are a steel alloy or aluminum. Since there is not much mass I wouldn’t think the weight advantage of aluminum would outweigh the cost advantage of steel.
I don’t know if the coating is a nylon thermoplastic or a polyester thermosetting plastic. Nylon would be my guess since it is more resistant to abrasion and the temperatures are not high enough to need a polyester.
This was a replacement for a Bosch and I had no issues with the durability of the racks in the old Bosch.

A:AnswerNot sure of the criteria to be "tall tub'" but large glasses do not fit in the top tray when it is raised high enough to allow for full size dinner plates in bottom tray
could make more room by removing the 3rd tray -- the drawer that is on top and I use for knives.
I should add that my wife and I are very happy with this dishwasher.

A:AnswerHi StellaJ. Thank you for your question. Yes, all of our Bosch Dishwashers have PureDry. If you use the Sanitize Option it will heat the water to 162 Degrees F. The PureDry system, which is a Condensation Drying System. How that works is the final rinse uses high-temperature water to make the dishes very hot. The stainless steel tub of the dishwasher cools faster than your dishes because stainless steel cools faster than glass and porcelain. Condensation occurs when the moist air in the dishwasher comes into contact with the cooler stainless steel tub, and turns into water droplets. These water droplets trickle down to the bottom of the dishwasher and are drained. Since it’s a closed system with no fan, the cleaning process is more sanitary. With no exposed heating element, plastic utensils and dishes places on the lower rack will not melt. The use of rinse agents, such as Jet Dry®, aids the condensation drying process by reducing the surface tension of water. This in turn allows the water on your dishware surfaces to run off more freely, so they dry better.
A:AnswerHi Flynnstone73. Thank you for your question. Yes, you can use powder detergent in your Bosch Dishwasher, however we do recommend using Finish Quantum Tablets.
