There is a modular plug (provided with the dishwasher) that can be used on either side of the dishwasher so no matter what side your power supply is. The modular plug is pre-wired to a box, it is from this box you would tie in the hard wire from your old unit.

NOTE: MAKE SURE YOU HAVE NO POWER GOING TO THE KITCHEN AREA THE IS INTENDED FOR THE DISHWASHER UNTIL YOUR INSTALLATION IS COMPLETE.

Hi Aimee. Thank you for your question. The 800 Series Pocket Handle Dishwasher includes a power cord. There is a junction box available for hard wiring, part number SMZPCJB1UC.
