Hi Meg, thanks for your question and interest in model SHXM78Z55N. The end of the wash cycle is also indicated by a buzzer if the signal tone has been set. You can find instructions on how to turn off this feature on page 35 of the Use and Care manual, under the heading "Wash Cycle End".
