“Is this a stand alone slide in or does it need counters on each side to stabilize it?”

This question is for: Bosch - 800 Series 4.6 Cu. Ft. Self-Cleaning Slide-In Electric Convection Range

I installed this myself. It can stand alone and function, but the sides are not finished, so it would look bad. Plus, the glass overhangs the countertop by about 1/2 inch on each side. Overall we love this and we have had it about a year. It is better than the induction oven we replaced.

I think it could be a standalone but the sides are unfinished so it wouldn't look very good exposed.

This is a stand alone slide in. The glass cooktop has room on each side for your countertop to fit underneath for a seamless flat look.

It does not have finished sides. I understand that you can purchase panels for the sides. It is “stable” without them but not finished.
